I was the one who asked about putting this on a small platform. I'm here to say it was a resounding success! Drilled a hole in the middle of a square board, put some stumpy dowels in the corners to serve as legs, and mounted the perch on it by putting the screw and nut through the hole. Then I can move it to the window, where my bird(s) can watch the wildlife in the trees, or to the kitchen, where they can watch me cook, or...whereever. It's big enough to hold both my conure and my budgie at the same time, but personalities being what they are, that seldom lasts for long....
