Pellets
For most caretakers of companion birds, pellets provide a nutritional complete, balanced diet. Most avian vets will recommend that at least a portion of each bird's diet consist of a pelleted diet. Choose from many varieties, some all natural, some organic, all great for your birds. Rely on years of experience by avian vets and nutritionists to help provide best nutrition for your feathered friends.
The Birdsafe Store has been selling and evaluating pelleted diets for over 20 years, as well as feeding our birds a variety of pelleted diets for over 25 years. We practice and recommend feeding your birds more than one pelleted diet, as many times there will be supply issues, or "batch" issues where a certain batch may not be liked by your birds, and you will have another pellet that your bird will eat. The two best indications of what is the best pellet for your bird are: 1) what your avian vet recommends; and 2) what your bird does well on. If your bird does well on a fruit-colored/flavored pellet, don't think that you need to necessarily put them on a "better" diet. If they are doing well, your vet is happy, and their weight is good, stick with what is working.
Supplement a pelleted diet with a seed/grain/nut/fruit mixture as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. Small amounts of "human food" is okay, but don't overdo it.
And always purchase professionally packaged foods and don't risk your bird's health with foods repackaged from bulk.
