I was so happy to discover wonderful towels like this. My poor rescued pigeons got wrapped up with end-of-the-line bathroom towels, with trimmed frayed edges and thinning fabric, during their daily meds. Now they're snug in soft, safe, new towels. I also tried one as soft roosting bedding for my old, arthritic guy; I feel much better using a terry towel that has the velour side without loops for him to sleep on. I went easy washing and drying the towels the first time to check for shrinkage and linting--almost no shrinkage and lint commensurate with new towels. On the second wash, they got the full dirty-bird treatment with heavy-duty cycle, hot water and regular dry cycle. They came out great--soft and fluffy. I see that the towels are already sold out. I look forward to buying more to replace all the ratty, old "bird towels." I'm also going to get some to replace what I use to tuck in my box turtles at night--again, something safe that they won't snag their nails on. Joe, order more soon! Thanks!

Great towels.

These towels are super soft, especially on the velour side, and the velour prevents toenails from getting snagged. Because of this, they are especially useful for catching birds and using them as padding in the bottom of cages or carriers. A word of caution: on the first washing, they tend to shed fibers on the washing machine walls, so I highly suggest washing them separately if there is concern over any towel fibers getting onto other items in washer.
